It can be visited in all seasons: in autumn to admire the foliage, in spring for a nice trip out of town or in summer to cool off in its waters. Lake Tenno is located in the province of Trento and precisely in the municipality of Tenno, a few kilometers from Riva del Garda.
To arrive by car you will have to take the SS240 towards Valle di Ledro / Lago di Tenno. From Trento instead it is 45 kilometers along the Gardesana SS45bis towards Arco / Riva del Garda. If you prefer to use the train it is more complicated because you will also have to take two or three buses to get to your destination.
How to visit Lake Tenno: what to see and what to do
Lake Tenno is one of the lakes with the cleanest waters in Italy and this allows you to swim in peace. If you don’t like swimming but you want to walk, you can go around the lake on foot in a loop of about 3 kilometers. Attention: the stroller cannot be used because there are some bumpy spots. The signposting to be taken as a reference point is path number 613, to be done clockwise or counterclockwise.
Another thing to do at Lake Tenno is to take the path that leads to the medieval village of Canale di Tenno. Characteristic village with stone houses, cobbled alleys and medieval signs.
If you decide to visit Lake Tenno you can have a picnic that children like and relax.
In addition to relaxing, swimming and eating, you can visit other mountain resorts within a short drive of Lake Tenno. Nice is the city of Molveno which is about 40 minutes by car, you can visit the Trentino part of Lake Garda which is undoubtedly one of the main attractions in this area. Do not miss the suggestive Varone waterfalls and Lake Ledro.
